4 Affordable Airbnbs in London

Best London Airbnbs

London has always been known for being an expensive place to stay.  If you want to stay close to the city centre (and most of the popular tourist attractions), but not pay a fortune, your best option is to rent a private room in an apartment on Airbnb. Luckily, there are many affordable Airbnbs in London available, although it always pays to book as early as possible to get the best choice!

Here are four great private rooms on Airbnb in London, that each go for under £70 ($90 USD) per night for two people. Each of them are scattered around the city, from the East End to Hackney to Paddington, just north of Hyde Park. I also couldn’t resist including a quirky Airbnb option further out to the north of London. And they all have plenty of 5-star reviews!

A Cosy Room in a Charming Bethnal Green Apartment

This charming and sparkling clean apartment is located in Bethnal Green, in the East End of London. It’s just three blocks from a subway station, but also walking distances from the delights of Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Victoria Lane. And host John is a pro at hosting Airbnb guests, providing a friendly welcome to everyone.

The private room on offer is small and cosy, but big enough for a a couple or spacious for a single occupant. You’re also welcome to use the rest of the apartment, including the kitchen. As a bonus there’s also free parking available on the premises.

A Room in a Colourful Hackney Apartment

This 2-bedroom apartment in Hackney has a beautiful outlook over London Fields, in the northeast of London. It’s perfect for a stay with a dog, along with hosts Jodi and Johnny, and their beloved older dog Lulu.

The apartment is conveniently located only 30-seconds walk from London Fields Station, plus 4-minutes from Broadway Market. Inside it has been colourfully decorated with lots of love. You’ll have your own private room along with your own personal bathroom, and access to the rest of the apartment including the kitchen and outdoor pizza oven.

An Ensuite Room near Marble Arch

This charming private room is a touch more expensive, but is conveniently located in Paddington, London. While there is no access to the kitchen, except for that essential cup of tea (or coffee), the room comes complete with its own private bathroom and an outdoor area and is a great alternative to a hotel stay.

Host Carolina makes guests feel at home, in this quiet, residential neighbourhood. Although it’s also close to all the conveniences, including a 24-hour supermarket, great restaurants ranging from Lebanese to tapas and multiple tube stations, including Marble Arch station. It’s also just a short stroll from the green surroundings of Hyde Park.

Cool Britannia meets Olde English Style Airbnb

From the outside, Blenheim Lodge in a quiet upmarket residential area of North London looks like a typical old English manor. However, if you stay in this excellent B&B, when you step into your room you will find it decorated with non-stop Union Jack paraphernalia, including the cushions on the bed and the floor rug, making for a truly British place to stay!

This house with its beautiful and peaceful garden to relax in seems a world away from the London city streets, but is in fact only a 5 minute walk from East Finchley Station and then 20 minutes on the tube to London Bridge and Kings Cross St Pancras, or 10 minutes to the delightful Camden Market.

In true B&B style, a plentiful continental breakfast is included in the price of the room. There’s also a English-style pub, the oldest cinema in the UK and shops and restaurants nearby.
