7 of the Best Gifts for Dog Lovers

Gift Ideas for Dog Lovers

If you’re a dog lover yourself or have a close relationship with a dog lover, you’ll know that the way to a dog lover’s heart is through something related to their dog. And the more unique and personalised, the better! Luckily then, I recently came across an amazing website that specialises in beautifully designed gifts, including many personalised dog-related gifts for the dog lover in your life.

UncommonGoods is a US-based website (but that ships internationally), that was founded back in 1999 by Dave Bolotsky. He envisioned it as an “online marketplace to connect makers and their creations with individuals looking for truly special goods”. One of the big focuses of the company is sustainability, whether it’s about being environment friendly, socially responsible or having a policy of no leather, feathers or fur. And best of all, it’s all curated on the one website making it easy to find what you want.

If you do need a little help searching for the exact gift for someone special, UncommonGoods have recently introduced Sunny, the gift-finding elephant, to help you out.  Just select the interests of your gift recipient, and you’ll be shown gift ideas from across categories. Star possible gifts, and Sunny will recommend more ideas.

To get you started, here are some great dog-related gift ideas that I’ve dug up…

Choose Your Dog Breed Umbrella

These colourful and stylish umbrellas, featuring the silhouette of your favourite dog breed, are perfect for brightening up a rainy day. Choose from 16 different dog breeds, each in a different colour combination.

Pedigree Poem Pillow

Every dog breed has its own special traits, and these pillows feature a cute acrostic poem celebrating them. There’s a huge list of dog breeds available to order, with many dog breeds having multiple illustration options. (Dachshund lovers be warned, you’ll have to choose between short and long hair, and three different colours!)

Pedigree Poem Tote Bag

These pedigree poems are so cute, I couldn’t resist recommending the matching tote bags, too. Order just the pillow for your home, or else these tote bags are perfect for carrying around something that reminds you of your dog everyday.

Custom Pet Nose Print Necklaces

These amazing necklaces are so unique! Available in three sizes, in order to custom make your necklace, you’ll be mailed a molding kit and instructions by the artist. Yes, it’s actually your own pet’s nose that features on the necklace! Made in stylish sterling silver, each necklace is then finished with your pet’s name engraved on the back.

Choose Your Dog Breed Necktie

If you prefer wearing a tie to a necklace, check out these 100% silk neckties. Available in both a distinguished red and blue hue, select from 17 popular dog breeds.

Bad Dog Coasters

If your dog is anything like mine, you’ll agree that some dogs aren’t the easiest to train! These cute coasters celebrating the follies of dog training are one of the many great homewares available at UncommonGoods with a dog-theme.

Unicorn Pet Sweater

I couldn’t resist including these cute sweaters, available in three different dog sizes. I’m not sure if your dog will be as impressed as you’ll be, but it makes for a great photo op and keeps them warm.
