W Brisbane

The 5-star W Brisbane has welcomed four-legged guests for glamorous stays since it opened in 2018. Offering up luxury with a bold, contemporary touch, the hotel is centrally located on the banks of the Brisbane River, across from Southbank and not far from the dog-friendly Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.

Request to stay in one of their pet-friendly rooms, complete with a custom dog bed, bowls, pet toys and treats, and local pet information. There’s an additional charge of $30 per night, plus a once-off cleaning fee of $150. Note though that there’s a dog size limit of 18kg.

The Inchcolm by Ovolo

Two more luxury pet-friendly hotels in Brisbane are the two Ovolo hotels in the city. The Inchcolm By Ovolo is located on the northern edge of the CBD in Spring Hill. A heritage-listed building that was once doctors’ suites, elements of its history have been retained, while rooms have been elegantly renovated and refurbished.

Request Ovolo’s V.I.Pooch package when booking with the Inchcolm so you can be allocated a pet-friendly room, with plenty of perks. The package includes plush dog beds, mats, bowls and designer “doggy bags”, with toys and snacks. Ovolo the Valley

If you’d prefer to stay in Fortitude Valley, instead book a room for you and your pup at Ovolo the Valley. A more groovy and eclectic experience, highlights include the rooftop swimming pool and its classy cocktail bar.

If staying with your pup, notify the property in advance, so you can be allocated a pet-friendly room. Similar inclusions and rules apply, including a limit of two pets per room and an $100 charge per night per pet. Note however there is an 18kg weight limit per pet.

Hotel X Brisbane

At the five-star Hotel X in Fortitude Valley, the focus is on luxury and decadence. Think rooftop pool, an award-winning bar, plus your choice of experiential add-ons. And your pup hasn’t been left out. One of their King Standard Balcony rooms has been set up for pets, including a pet loo on the balcony.

Spicers Balfour Hotel

Multiple Spicers properties welcome pets to stay in selected rooms, amongst them the Spicers Balfour Hotel. This small boutique property is set within a traditional Queenslander close to the Brisbane River, offering luxurious yet relaxed stays, along with an excellent onsite restaurant.

Two of the suites at Spicers Balfour are pet-friendly – make sure you request one when booking. An additional $100 per cleaning fee will be added to your booking. Or book a Pooch Package is booking directly. Note that only small and medium dogs up to 25kg are allowed.

Miss Midgley’s

Miss Midgley’s is also located in New Farm, on fashionable James Street, a 10-minute walk away from the New Farm Riverwalk. The hotel is set in a 160-year-old building that once housed a school.

The hotel contains five self-contained apartments, of which the three apartments located on the ground floor with courtyards are pet-friendly. Choose between the one-bedroom Principals Office, the two-bedroom Refectory and the two-bedroom Locker Room. Shared facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool and a book library.

Selina Brisbane

Selina Brisbane is of the first Australian outpost of Selina, a popular luxe hostel brand with locations dotted around the world. And like other Selina locations, Selina Brisbane is also pet-friendly.

Located opposite the Roma Street Station and the Roma Street Parklands, Selina Brisbane offers a mixture of dormitory rooms, standard double rooms, suites and family rooms. With a focus on providing more facilities than you’d expect at a hostel, you’ll also find a co-working space and cinema room, as well as a large shared kitchen.

Enquire directly for the rules regarding pets, including what rooms they are allowed in – presumably not the dormitory rooms! There is an additional charge of $10 per pet, per night.

Apartments on Connor

Apartments on Connor are located in Fortitude Valley, just off James Street. All of the apartments include a well-equipped kitchen, living room with flat-screen TV and a terrace..

Selected Executive Rooms, Junior Suites and Family Suites have been designated as pet-friendly. It’s essential to make a direct booking with the hotel and select to book a Pet Package, with a bed, bowls, snack box and toys included.

Up to two dogs are permitted per room, with no size restrictions. However, it’s recommended that you provide your dog’s name, breed and size in advance, so that their room can be properly prepared.
