W Brisbane
The 5-star W Brisbane has welcomed four-legged guests for glamorous stays since it opened in 2018. Offering up luxury with a bold, contemporary touch, the hotel is centrally located on the banks of the Brisbane River, across from Southbank and not far from the dog-friendly Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.
Request to stay in one of their pet-friendly rooms, with a custom dog bed, bowls, gift and local pet information provided as part of the Pets Are Welcome offer. There’s an additional charge of $30 per night, plus a once-off cleaning fee of $150. Both dogs and cats up to 18kg are accepted.
Ovolo the Valley
If you’d prefer to stay in hip Fortitude Valley, book a room for you and your pup at Ovolo the Valley, a more groovy and eclectic experience. Highlights include the rooftop swimming pool and its classy cocktail bar.
Select Ovolo’s V.I.Pooch package when booking so you can be allocated a pet-friendly room, with plenty of perks. The package includes orthopaedic dog beds from Dog Friendly Co, Frank Green designed dog bowls and a range of gourmet dog food and treats from The Nosh Project, Petzyo and Petz Park.
Up to two pet dogs are permitted per room (with an additional charge of $100 per night for the second pet), with no size limits. For each V.I.Pooch package booked, a donation of $5 will be made to the Sydney Dogs & Cats Home.
Hotel X Brisbane
At the five-star Hotel X in Fortitude Valley, now part of the Vignette Collection, the focus is on luxury and decadence. Think rooftop pool, an award-winning bar, plus your choice of experiential add-ons. And your pup hasn’t been left out. One of their King Standard Balcony rooms has been set up for pets, including a pet loo on the balcony.
Inside you’ll find a luxe pet bed, bowl, a Hotel X pet bandana and even a dog-friendly mini-bar – choose between probiotic puppaccinos, coconut beef and lamb balls. Direct bookings are required for the Fetch & Stay package. Up to two dogs are permitted in the room, with a size limit of 15kg per dog.

Spicers Balfour Hotel
Multiple Spicers properties welcome pets to stay in selected rooms, amongst them the Spicers Balfour Hotel in New Farm. This small boutique property is set within a traditional Queenslander close to the Brisbane River, offering luxurious yet relaxed stays, along with an excellent onsite restaurant.
Two of the suites at Spicers Balfour are pet-friendly – make a booking for a Pooch Package. Your dog will have their own plush dog bed and bowls. Note that only small and medium dogs up to 25kg are allowed.
The hotel is superbly positioned close to the New Farm Riverwalk, the popular floating walking leading to the city centre and an excellent outing with your dog.
The Inchcolm by Ode Hotels
The Inchcolm is located on the northern edge of the CBD in Spring Hill. A heritage-listed building that was once doctors’ suites, elements of its history have been retained, while its range of rooms and suites have been elegantly renovated and refurbished.
The Inchcolm is a delightfully dog-friendly hotel. All breeds and sizes of dogs are welcome in the hotel – just make sure you request one of their designated pet-friendly rooms, available in all room categories except Thompson Suite and Socialite Suite.
There is an additional pet fee of $100 per night. If booking a Dog-Friendly Package a dog bed, blanket, toy and more provided. Enjoy dinner with your dog at the terrace area, or instead order room service.
Miss Midgley’s
Miss Midgley’s is located on fashionable James Street in New Farm, a 10-minute walk away from the New Farm Riverwalk. The boutique lodging is set in a 160-year-old building that once housed a school.
The hotel contains five self-contained apartments, of which the three apartments located on the ground floor with courtyards are pet-friendly. Choose between the one-bedroom Principals Office, the two-bedroom Refectory and the two-bedroom Locker Room.
There are no size restrictions or additional fees for pets. Double check in advance for any extra regulations. Shared facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool and a book library.
Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre
The Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre is another pet-friendly boutique hotel to choose from in Brisbane. Located at North Quay, the hotel is the perfect spot to recharge your imagination in the city centre, with unexpected murals and artworks dotted throughout.
Make a direct booking with the hotel for a Pet Package. Your pet will be spoilt with their own cozy bed, a snug blanket, food and water bowls, soft toy and a pooch loot bag with tasty treats. Pats from the staff are also likely!

The Sage Hotel James Street is fashionably located in the heart of the James Street precinct in Fortitude Valley. Inspired by trendy inner city living, this contemporary hotel even has its own rooftop bar and infinity pool.
Up to two dogs of all shapes and sizes are welcome to stay with you in selected pet-friendly rooms. If booking directly, book one of the Sage x Scratch Paw Pads packages, which includes a pet bed and bowls or slow feeder in your room, as well as Scratch kibble and treats, a collar fashion gift and toy to take home.
Alternatively, if not booking the package, a $50 per pet per night fee applies, in addition to a pet bond. Pet-friendly rooms include standard, balcony and courtyard rooms.
Quest Woolloongabba
There are a large number of Quest Apartment Hotels located across Australia, with a significant number of them now pet-friendly. One of the pet-friendly options in the centre of Brisbane is Quest Woollangabba, located not far from the Gabba cricket ground.
The four-stay hotel just south of the Brisbane CBD contains 98 rooms, including studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, perfect for families and larger groups.
Enquire directly with the hotel about their pet rules, including their fees for staying with a pet. Direct bookings are required when staying with a pet.
Apartments on Connor
Apartments on Connor are located in Fortitude Valley, just off James Street. All of the apartments include a well-equipped kitchen, living room with flat-screen TV and a terrace..
Selected apartments are pet-friendly, including two one-bedroom apartments with an external balcony on the forth and sixth floors, a seventh floor apartment with an enclosed alfresco balcony and a two-bedroom apartment on the 15th floor.
Up to two small dogs under 15kg are permitted to stay on request per apartment, with up-to-date vaccination records required to be presented and an application form including a photo. An additional charge of $80 per stay will apply, plus a deposit is required.
The Sedgebrook on Leichhardt
The Sedgebrook on Leichhardt is conveniently located just north of the Brisbane CBD on Leichhardt Street in Spring Hill. Each of its modern fully-furnished one-bedroom apartments comes with a large private balcony offering city views.
Pets are allowed to stay on request, for an additional charge of $90 per stay. Previous guests have reported a 10kg weight limit – double check the latest rates and rules before booking.
Punthill Spring Hill
Punthill Spring Hill is located on the northern end of Brisbane in Spring Hill. The hotel offers a mixture of standard studios plus superior studios, that can sleep up to three, all with a kitchenette. There’s also an outdoor pool and a BBQ area on site.
Pets are permitted to stay at Punthill Spring Hill, both for short-stay and long-stay guests. Pets are required to be vaccinated and restricted breeds are not allowed. A $250 cleaning fee applies per stay.
Suburban Dog-Friendly Hotels in Brisbane

View Brisbane
The View chain of hotels in Australia is pet-friendly, including their Brisbane hotel. Located east of the city centre on the edge of Hamilton, this four-star hotel offers excellent views of the river, plus is close to the Lores Bonney Riverwalk.
Selected Executive Rooms, Junior Suites and Family Suites have been designated as pet-friendly. It’s essential to make a direct booking with the hotel. A bed, bowls, snack box and toys included as part of the pet package.
According to the latest pet policy, dogs up to 25kg are permitted, with an additional charge of $120 per day applying. It’s recommended that you provide your dog’s name, breed and size in advance, so that their room can be properly prepared.
Quest Breakfast Creek
Close to View Brisbane is Quest Breakfast Creek, another Quest Apartment Hotel that offers pet-friendly rooms. The hotel is also located directly opposite the Breakfast Creek Hotel with its dog-friendly beer garden.
A mixture of studios with kitchenettes plus apartments with full kitchens and balconies, the hotel also has an outdoor pool and an extensive pantry service.
Pets up to 20kg in weight are permitted in designed pet-friendly rooms. A $15 per night charge applies, as well as a one-off $200 cleaning fee. The full pet policy is linked on their website.
Alcyone Hotel Residences
The Alcyone Hotel Residences are luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments located in the Portside precinct at Hamilton. The apartments come with everything you could need, from a full kitchen to an internal laundry, while outside is a swimming pool, sundeck with lounges and serenity garden.
It’s just a short stroll from the Bretts Wharf ferry terminal (and pet-friendly river ferries) and the dog-friendly Eat Street Northshore. Book a Pamper Your Pooch package directly, which includes a plush dog bed, blanket, bowls and a doggie goodie bag. An additional nightly fee of $35 and a one-off cleaning fee applies.
Toowong Villas
Head west of the Brisbane City to Toowong, close to the Mount Coot-tha Forest, to find Toowong Villas. Featuring apartment-style accommodation, rooms range in size from studios up to three-bedroom apartments, including family-style apartments, accommodating up to sis guests.
Set in lovely gardens and featuring two outdoor pools, selected apartments are pet-friendly. It’s a must to advise the property in advance that you’ll be bringing a pet, with acceptance subject to the availability of a pet-friendly room. Additional charges also apply pet night.
Airway Motel
The Airway Motel is located in Ascot, east of the centre of Brisbane, not far from Brisbane Airport. This three-star motel offers low-key lodgings, along with an outdoor saltwater pool, a courtyard with seating and free on-site parking.
Selected Queen, Double and Twin rooms have been designated as pet-friendly – make sure you select the pet-friendly options when making a booking. Both dogs and cats are accepted, of all sizes, with additional fees likely – double check before making a booking.
Motel Mt Gravatt
South of the centre of Brisbane, while the Motel Mt Gravatt is a budget-style motel, it is highly rated by past guests, many who have appreciated that they could stay here with their dogs.
Choose between queen, triple and family rooms, accomodating up to four guests. There’s large garden areas to walk your dog during your stay. Double check with the motel for the full dog regulations, including whether there is a charge for pets.
